Dell Laptop Repairs Hills District

At Computer Repairs Pronto we have been repairing Dell laptops for customers across the Hills District for over 20 years. Dell XPS Repairs

The Dell XPS range are premium machines and we see alot of them. They are well built but do have some common issues that come up regularly. The team have worked on all XPS models from the older XPS 13 9343 through to the latest XPS 13 Plus and XPS 15 models.

Common XPS Problems We Fix

The most common XPS issues we see are:

• Screen Problems - The XPS 13 and 15 4K OLED screens are prone to burn-in on older models. The InfinityEdge displays can also develop dead pixels and backlight bleed issues. We do full screen replacements on all XPS models.
• Keyboard Issues - Keys stopping working or becoming unresponsive. The XPS 13 Plus haptic keyboard is particularly prone to issues.
• Battery Swelling - Older XPS models especially the 9350 and 9360 are known for battery swelling. This usually pushes the trackpad up and can damage internal components if left too long.
• Overheating - The compact design means thermals can be tight. Thermal paste degrades over time and the fans can clog with dust. We do full thermal services on XPS laptops.
• Charging Port Issues - USB-C port damage is common. We can often repair or replace the charging port.

Dell Inspiron Repairs

The Inspiron range is Dells mainstream consumer line and we see more Inspirons than any other Dell model. They are generally reliable machines but there are some known issues with certain models.

• Inspiron 15 3000 Series (3501, 3511, 3520, 3530) - Hinges, keyboards, charging issues
• Inspiron 15 5000 Series (5502, 5510, 5515, 5520) - Screen issues, SSD failures, overheating

Common Inspiron Problems We Fix

• Hinge Problems - This is probably the most common Inspiron issue we see. The plastic hinge mounts crack and the screen becomes loose. Often repairable without replacing the whole chassis.
• Keyboard Failures - Individual keys stopping working or the whole keyboard failing. Usually a ribbon cable issue or the keyboard itself needing replacement.
• Slow Performance - Many Inspirons still come with mechanical hard drives. An SSD upgrade makes a massive difference to boot times and general performance.
• Screen Issues - Cracked screens, dead pixels, backlight problems. We stock common Inspiron screens and can usually offer same day turnaround.
• Charging Problems - DC jack failures are common on older Inspirons. The charging port can work loose or fail completely.

Dell Latitude Repairs

Latitude is Dells business laptop range and we work on alot of them for corporate customers and small businesses across the Hills District. They are built to a higher standard than consumer models but still develop issues over time.

• Latitude 5000 Series (5420, 5430, 5440, 5520, 5530, 5540) - Keyboard issues, battery drain, screen problems

• Docking Station Issues - USB-C docking problems are common. Sometimes its the dock itself, sometimes its the laptop port.
• Battery Degradation - Business laptops get heavy use and batteries wear out. We source replacement batteries for most Latitude models.
• Keyboard Replacements - Spill damage and worn keys. Latitude keyboards are usually easier to replace than consumer models.
• BIOS and Firmware Issues - Corporate machines sometimes have issues after BIOS updates. We can usually resolve these.

Dell Precision Repairs

Precision workstations are Dells high-end mobile workstation range. We see them from architects, engineers and video editors across the Hills District. They are powerful machines but can develop issues especially with the GPU and cooling systems.
