0400 454 859HP Pavilion Repairs
The HP Pavilion range is HPs mainstream consumer laptop line. We see more Pavilions than any other HP model. They are decent machines for the price but there are some well known issues that affect certain models.
Common HP Pavilion Models We Repair
- Pavilion 15 (15-eg, 15-eh, 15-dw, 15-cs) - Hinge failures, keyboard issues, overheating problems
- Pavilion 14 (14-dv, 14-ce, 14-ec) - Screen issues, charging port failures, battery drain
- Pavilion x360 (14-dw, 14-dy, 15-er) - Touchscreen problems, hinge wear, stylus issues
- Pavilion Gaming (15-dk, 15-ec, 16-a) - Overheating, fan failures, GPU problems
Common Pavilion Problems We Fix
- Hinge Failures - This is the most common Pavilion problem we see. The hinge mounts crack causing the screen to wobble or break away from the base. Often the plastic around the hinges cracks. We can repair or replace hinges on most Pavilion models.
- Overheating Issues - Pavilions can run hot especially the older models. Thermal paste dries out and fans get clogged with dust. A proper thermal service usually sorts this out.
- Keyboard Problems - Individual keys stop working or the keyboard gets unresponsive. Usually fixable with a keyboard replacement.
- Screen Issues - Cracked screens are common. We stock Pavilion screens and can usually offer same day turnaround. We also see backlight failures and dead pixels.
- Charging Port Failures - The DC jack on Pavilions can work loose over time. Sometimes we can repair it, sometimes it needs replacing.
- Slow Performance - Many Pavilions come with mechanical hard drives. An SSD upgrade makes a massive difference to speed.
HP Envy Repairs
The HP Envy sits between the Pavilion and premium Spectre range. They are generally better built than Pavilions but we still see some common issues.
Common HP Envy Models We Repair
- Envy 13 (13-ba, 13-ay, 13-bf) - Battery swelling, keyboard issues, screen problems
- Envy 14 (14-eb, 14-es) - Trackpad failures, charging issues, fan noise
- Envy 15 (15-ep, 15-ey, 15-fe) - Overheating, GPU issues on dedicated graphics models
- Envy x360 (13-ay, 15-eu, 15-ew, 15-fe) - Touchscreen problems, hinge wear, display flicker
- Envy 17 (17-ch, 17-cr) - Screen issues, overheating, heavy and prone to drop damage
Common Envy Problems We Fix
- Battery Swelling - Older Envy models especially the x360 range are known for battery swelling. This pushes the trackpad up and can damage the bottom case. Needs sorting sooner rather than later.
- Display Issues - The OLED screens on newer Envys can develop issues. We also see ghosting and backlight bleed on older models. Screen replacements available.
- Trackpad Failures - The trackpad stops responding or becomes erratic. Often related to battery swelling but can also be a hardware failure.
- Fan Noise - Envys can get noisy when the fans are working hard. Often just needs a clean out but sometimes the fan bearings wear out.
