RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti Faults We Repair
Faults on both cards come from the same few places: the eight memory chips, the power stages feeding the GPU and memory, the firmware chip, and the connectors at the edges of the board.
| Symptom | First place we look | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| Blocks, lines, sparkles or wrong colours on screen | A memory chip, the memory power supply, contact under the GPU | From $530 (memory chip) |
| Hot, loud card that throttles or crashes in long sessions | Dried paste, flattened pads, dust in the fins, worn fans | From $330 |
| Fans and lights on, no picture | GPU or memory power rail, firmware, the display output path | From $330 (firmware) or $430 (power stage) |
| Computer switches off or will not start with the card installed | A short on the 12V input or one of the card's rails | From $430 |
| Black screen after a BIOS flash | Wrong or corrupted firmware | From $330 |
| Code 43 in Device Manager that follows the card to another PC | Memory, firmware or a power rail | From $330 |
| Scorched 12-pin or 8-pin power connector | The connector, its solder joints and the input circuit behind it | From $370 |
| One HDMI or DisplayPort output dead | That connector or its output circuitry | From $370 |
| Not detected after the card was knocked or the PC moved | Parts broken off near the PCIe edge, damaged edge contacts | From $370 |
These are starting prices; your fixed price comes after testing, with our view on whether to go ahead.
RTX 3070 vs RTX 3070 Ti: Two Different Repair Jobs
The 3070 and 3070 Ti share NVIDIA's GA104 GPU and an 8GB, 256-bit memory layout, but the Ti uses a different type of memory and is rated 70W higher, so memory parts and firmware are not interchangeable. Both are built on Samsung's 8nm process.
| RTX 3070 | RTX 3070 Ti | |
|---|---|---|
| On sale | October 2020 | June 2021 |
| GPU | GA104-300 (GA104-302 on LHR cards) | GA104-400, the full chip |
| CUDA cores | 5,888 | 6,144 |
| Memory | 8GB GDDR6 at 14Gbps | 8GB GDDR6X at 19Gbps |
| Memory chips | Eight 1GB chips, front of the board | Eight 1GB chips, front of the board |
| Memory bus | 256-bit | 256-bit |
| Rated board power | 220W | 290W |
| Founders Edition power input | 12-pin, adapter from one 8-pin | 12-pin, adapter from two 8-pins |
| Mining limiter | LHR versions from late May 2021 | Limited from launch |
What the differences mean on the bench:
- Power: PC Gamer measured 291W from its 3070 Ti and 222W from its 3070. That extra current loads the Ti's power stages, connector and your power supply.
- Board: Igor's Lab described the 3070 Ti Founders Edition board as completely redesigned, so parts and pads sit differently from the 3070 Founders Edition.
- Firmware: three GPU revisions (GA104-300, -302 and -400) and many partner boards mean the file is always matched to the exact card.
- An unusual variant: in October 2022 Zotac listed a 3070 Ti on a cut-down GA102 chip, rated at 320W, for the Chinese market (KitGuru, Guru3D). Rare in Australia, but another reason we ask for the exact model.
GDDR6 and GDDR6X: Memory Repairs on the 3070 and 3070 Ti
A failed memory chip can be replaced on either card from $530, subject to the correct chip being available: the 3070 needs a GDDR6 part and the 3070 Ti a GDDR6X part. Before you approve that cost, read whether it is worth it, because on a 3070 it often is not.
- Both cards carry eight 1GB chips around the GPU on the front of the board, with no memory on the back, unlike the 3090.
- Each chip has its own 32-bit share of the 256-bit bus, so errors pinned to one part of the bus point to one chip.
| RTX 3070 | RTX 3070 Ti | |
|---|---|---|
| Memory type | GDDR6 | GDDR6X |
| Maker in published teardowns | Samsung (Igor's Lab, Guru3D, Appuals) | Micron (Igor's Lab, Guru3D) |
| Data rate | 14Gbps per pin | 19Gbps per pin |
| Signalling | Standard GDDR6 | PAM4, which Micron uses to reach higher data rates |
| Memory power on the Founders Edition | Built from discrete MOSFETs (Igor's Lab) | Two phases using integrated power stages (Igor's Lab) |
How a memory replacement goes:
- All eight chips are tested, cold and warm, and the memory supply checked, since a bad supply can make a healthy chip look faulty.
- We read the markings on the fitted chips and source a matching replacement. If none is available, you are told before you approve anything.
- The failed chip is lifted with controlled hot air, the pads cleaned and the new chip fitted.
- All eight chips are retested and the card rebuilt with pads at the measured thickness and fresh paste.
RTX 3070 Artefacting and Memory Errors
Artefacts on a 3070 or 3070 Ti, such as coloured blocks, lines, sparkles or flickering textures, usually trace back to a memory chip or the supply feeding the memory, though heat and a poor connection under the GPU can look the same. Free checks at home can save you a diagnostic fee:
- Start-up screen: artefacts before Windows loads mean the card, not the driver.
- Driver: remove it fully with Display Driver Uninstaller and install the current version.
- Cable, output, computer: try another cable, another output and, if you can, another PC.
- Temperature: artefacts that start only once the card is very hot may need just a thermal service.
Our GPU artefacting guide covers these checks in more detail. On the bench, the job is to separate a failing chip from a failing supply or a heat problem, as the prices differ a lot.
RTX 3070 No Display Repair
A 3070 with fans and lights running but no picture usually has a power rail that is not coming up, firmware that will not load, or a fault on the output side, and most of these are repairable if the GPU is healthy. Fans and lighting run almost straight from the 12V input, so they prove little.
| What you notice | Where it usually points |
|---|---|
| Card shows in Device Manager or the motherboard BIOS, screen stays black | Firmware, memory, or the display output path |
| Card not detected at all; motherboard GPU warning light on | The GPU or memory rail is down, or the PCIe edge contacts are damaged |
| Black screen began right after a BIOS flash | Firmware: see LHR versions and firmware |
| One output dead, the others fine | That connector or the circuitry behind it |
Before sending it, try every output, and on a Founders Edition reseat both ends of the 12-pin adapter.
RTX 3070 Power Stage and MOSFET Repair
A failed power stage is one of the more straightforward 3070 repairs, from $430, but every board uses its own power layout, so the replacement is matched to your card. A power stage is a small package of MOSFET switches that turns 12V into the GPU or memory voltage; a failed one often shorts, which collapses its rail or makes the power supply shut down.
Published teardowns show how much the boards differ:
| Board (source) | GPU power | Memory power |
|---|---|---|
| 3070 Founders Edition (Igor's Lab) | Nine phases, Alpha & Omega 50A power stages | Discrete Sinopower MOSFETs |
| 3070 Ti Founders Edition (Igor's Lab) | Five controller phases, each driving two power stages | Two phases, the same power stages as the GPU |
| Palit 3070 GamingPro (Appuals) | Ten phases, 50A power stages | Two phases, discrete Sinopower MOSFETs |
| EVGA 3070 FTW3 Ultra (Guru3D) | Twelve phases, onsemi power stages | Two phases |
| Palit 3070 Ti GamingPro (Guru3D) | Ten phases, 55A power stages | Two phases |
So a memory-supply fault on a 3070 Founders Edition needs different parts from the same fault on a 3070 Ti Founders Edition. On any board, the repair covers:
- Replacing the failed part with a matching one, then checking the controller, neighbouring stages and capacitors on that rail.
- Bringing the rail up on a current-limited bench supply before full power.
- A sustained load to prove the rail holds at full current, which matters most on the 290W Ti.
When the PC Will Not Start With the Card Fitted
If your computer switches off or will not start with the 3070 installed, but starts without it, the card almost certainly has a short and should not be powered again until checked. Each retry pushes full current into the fault and can damage healthy parts.
- With the card unpowered, each rail is measured to ground; a reading near zero shows the shorted one.
- A low, current-limited voltage is fed into that rail under a thermal camera, and the failed part, often a power stage or a small ceramic capacitor, warms first.
- If your power supply died at the same moment, tell us: every rail is then checked, not just the first fault found.
One power-up too many can turn a $430 repair into a card that is not worth fixing. If the PC shuts off with the card fitted, take it out and leave it out.
RTX 3070 Overheating and Thermal Service
A 3070 or 3070 Ti that has become hot, loud or unstable after a few years usually needs fresh paste and pads rather than new parts, and a thermal service starts from $330. Some reference points:
- NVIDIA lists 93°C as the maximum GPU temperature for both Founders Edition cards. A card nearing that in ordinary gaming has a cooling problem.
- PC Gamer found the 3070 Ti Founders Edition the hottest Founders Edition it had tested, averaging 75°C at 4K, so a Ti running warmer than a 3070 is not a fault on its own.
The usual findings are dried paste, hardened or flattened pads, pads of the wrong thickness from an earlier home service, dust packed in the fins and worn fan bearings. The service is a full strip and clean, pads matched to the measured gaps, new paste, then a long load run with temperatures logged. A worn fan is quoted separately once we know the right part for that cooler.
Ex-Mining RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti Cards
A second-hand 3070 or 3070 Ti may have spent months mining cryptocurrency, so its cooling deserves a check before anything more expensive is blamed. An LHR sticker does not prove a card never mined. The timeline:
| When | What happened |
|---|---|
| October 2020 | The RTX 3070 goes on sale with no mining limiter |
| Late May 2021 | LHR (Lite Hash Rate) 3070s ship, marked on the box; NVIDIA estimated about 25 MH/s for Ethereum |
| June 2021 | The 3070 Ti launches limited; Tom's Hardware found other coins were not restricted |
| December 2021 | Notebookcheck and HotHardware report a US mining farm with a section built from 3070 Founders Edition cards |
| May 2022 | NiceHash says its QuickMiner software fully bypasses the LHR limiter (reported by PCWorld) |
| 15 September 2022 | Ethereum moves to proof of stake, ending GPU mining on that network (Tom's Hardware) |
On an ex-mining card we check the memory and power-stage pads, paste, fans and fins, look for signs of earlier repairs, and test all eight memory chips once the card runs cool; a chip that still errors is quoted separately. A mining past does not make a card unrepairable, but a thermal service is often the right first step, and a used card bought as a replacement may need the same work.
LHR Versions, BIOS Flashing and Firmware Recovery
Firmware faults on a 3070 or 3070 Ti are usually recoverable from $330, but the file must match the exact card, including whether it is an original or an LHR version. LHR 3070s use a different GPU revision, GA104-302 rather than GA104-300, and each partner writes firmware for its own board.
Firmware usually goes wrong through a BIOS from another brand or model flashed for a higher power limit, an update cut short by a crash or power cut, or a file for the other revision. If your card has a BIOS switch, try the other position first.
On the bench, the firmware chip is read on the board with a programmer, checked against the correct file for that board and revision, rewritten and verified. If the firmware proves fine, diagnosis moves on to power and memory, and you hear before any further cost. With the hardware often healthy, this is one of the jobs most likely to be worth doing on a 3070.
Founders Edition and Partner RTX 3070 Boards
NVIDIA's Founders Edition 3070 and 3070 Ti use a 12-pin power connector and a cooler with fragile internal cables, while partner cards from ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, EVGA, Zotac, Palit, Inno3D and others each have their own board and power layout.
| 3070 Founders Edition | 3070 Ti Founders Edition | Partner cards | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Power input | 12-pin, adapter from one 8-pin | 12-pin, adapter from two 8-pins | Standard 8-pin; two on each board in the teardowns above |
| Connector position | Middle of the card, pointing up | Mounted at an angle on the board | Varies by model |
| Length | 242mm, two slots | 267mm, two slots | Varies by model |
Points that matter for a repair:
- Ribbon cables: TechPowerUp found the 3070 Founders Edition easier to dismantle than the 3080 or 3090, but warned of two delicate flat ribbon cables inside. Tearing one during a home repaste turns a cooling job into a repair.
- Adapters differ: the 3070's adapter feeds from one 8-pin with half its pins populated, and TechPowerUp noted it will not work on a 3080 or 3090. The 3070 Ti's takes two 8-pin plugs. Keep the one that came with your card.
- Connectors and ports: a scorched 12-pin or 8-pin connector, or a damaged HDMI or DisplayPort output, is repaired from $370. Replace any overheated adapter or cable too.
How We Diagnose an RTX 3070 or 3070 Ti
Diagnosis starts with the least invasive checks and works inward, and on a 3070 it finishes with a value check as well as a price. Steps that do not fit the symptom are skipped.
- Identify the card: 3070 or 3070 Ti, brand, model, original or LHR.
- Inspect both sides under magnification for burnt or missing parts, liquid, connector damage, pad condition and earlier work.
- Measure each rail to ground with no power applied.
- Power up current-limited from a bench supply, then confirm each rail in start-up order.
- Read the firmware and test all eight memory chips where the symptom points that way.
- Quote with a value check: the fault, a fixed price and whether it makes sense against a working used card. Nothing goes ahead without your approval.
- Repair and prove it under sustained load with temperatures logged.
What Cannot Be Fixed on an RTX 3070
A failed or cracked GA104 GPU, burnt-through board layers, heavy corrosion or several faults at once usually end the job, either because it cannot be done reliably or because it would cost more than the card is worth.
- A failed GPU core: it can only be replaced, generally from a salvaged card, at a cost well beyond a 3070's value.
- Burning through the board's layers, heavy corrosion or a cracked board.
- Pads torn from the board during an earlier repair attempt.
- Memory and power faults together, which on a 3070 usually total more than a working used card.
In these cases you pay the $150 diagnostic and any return postage, nothing else, and you are told what failed. If the card is still under the manufacturer's warranty, go to the retailer first: your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law sit with them.
RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti Repair Cost
Repairs on both cards start from $330, and you get a fixed price in the quote before any work begins. The same price list applies to the 3070 and the 3070 Ti.
| Work | Price |
|---|---|
| Bench diagnostic | $150, waived if you go ahead with the repair |
| Thermal service, paste and pads | From $330 |
| Firmware and BIOS recovery | From $330 |
| Connector, port and trace repair | From $370 |
| Power-stage or MOSFET repair | From $430 |
| Memory chip replacement, GDDR6 or GDDR6X, subject to the correct chip being available | From $530 |
| Reflow or reball | From $630, quoted per card |
Call 02 8428 9224 with the card model and the fault for a starting price; if the likely repair is out of proportion to what the card is worth, we will say so on the call. If you post the card, add postage both ways at the service and cover you pick.
Is an RTX 3070 Worth Repairing?
Sometimes: a thermal service or firmware recovery usually makes sense, a single power stage is a closer call, and a memory chip or reball will often cost about as much as a working used 3070, or more. To decide:
- Find the real value: recently sold listings for the same model in working order, 3070 or 3070 Ti, not asking prices, which run higher.
- Allow for parts value: a faulty card still sells for something, which lowers the true cost of replacing it.
- Add postage both ways if you are interstate.
- Compare: if the quote leaves you well ahead of buying a working card, repair; if not, sell it and buy one.
| Repair | Starting price | Usually worth it on a 3070? |
|---|---|---|
| Thermal service | From $330 | Usually, on an otherwise healthy card you want to keep |
| Firmware recovery | From $330 | Usually; the hardware is often fine |
| Connector or port | From $370 | Often, if nothing behind the connector is damaged |
| Single power stage | From $430 | A closer call: compare with sold prices first |
| Memory chip | From $530 | Often not: can match or exceed a working used card |
| Reflow or reball | From $630 | Rarely |
Points in favour of repairing:
- You know your card's history. A used replacement may be an ex-mining card needing the same thermal work.
- A repair comes with a 12-month warranty on the replaced parts for the same fault; a private sale usually comes with nothing.
Points against:
- TechSpot's April 2023 testing found 8GB no longer enough for high settings in several newer games, though the 3070 stayed usable. Decide whether an 8GB card is worth repair money to you.
- If you are weighing up a replacement instead, our RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 3080 pages cover those cards.
As an illustration: if working 3070s are selling for around $450 near you, a thermal service from $330 is reasonable on a card you mean to keep, a power stage from $430 leaves little advantage over buying another, and a memory chip from $530 or a reball from $630 costs more than a working card. In that last case we will tell you, and the card comes back for the $150 diagnostic plus any return postage.
RTX 3070 Repair Turnaround
Most 3070 and 3070 Ti repairs spend between one and ten business days on the bench, depending on the work.
| Work | Usual bench time |
|---|---|
| Thermal service, firmware recovery | 1–2 business days |
| Power stage, memory chip | 3–7 business days |
| Reball, physical damage | 5–10 business days |
| Faults that come and go, or only appear when hot | Longer, because the fault must be caught before it can be traced |
A job waiting on a memory chip depends on supply, and you will know before approving. If posting, allow for transit both ways; our mail-in GPU repair page lists Australia Post's estimates by state.
What Happens After the Repair?
Your 3070 is load-tested before it leaves the bench, and you are told exactly what was replaced and why. It must be detected at full PCIe width and speed, give a picture on every output, pass memory testing on all eight chips and hold a sustained load with temperatures logged.
When the invoice is settled, the card is ready to collect from the workshop by arrangement. If it came by post, it goes home on your prepaid label, or we post it and add the return postage to the invoice at cost.
Warranty: every part we fit is covered for 12 months against the same fault coming back. Should a replaced part fail within that year and the fault return, the card comes back to us and the part is covered. Clean fans and dust filters, and on a Founders Edition the original adapter, give the repair the best chance.
Typical RTX 3070 Repair Scenarios
These are typical ways a 3070 or 3070 Ti arrives on the bench, what testing tends to show and what the fix involves. They describe fault patterns, not your card, which is tested and priced on its own findings.
A second-hand 3070 that runs hot and crashes in long sessions
- What you see
- A used card, possibly ex-mining, loud from the first minute, crashing or losing frame rate after half an hour of gaming.
- What diagnosis usually finds
- Crusted paste, hardened pads and dust through the fins. Under test the GPU climbs towards its limit and clocks fall.
- The repair
- Strip, clean, pads matched to the measured gaps and fresh paste. A memory chip that still errors once the card runs cool is quoted separately.
- Price and bench time
- From $330; one to two business days
- Before it goes back
- A long load run with temperatures and clocks logged, and a full memory test.
A 3070 with artefacts traced to one GDDR6 memory chip
- What you see
- Coloured blocks or sparkles on the start-up screen, worse in games, sometimes ending in a driver crash.
- What diagnosis usually finds
- Errors confined to one 32-bit slice of the bus, pointing to a single chip, with the memory supply measuring correctly.
- The repair
- If you approve after checking sold prices, the chip is replaced with a matching GDDR6 part. Declining at this price is a reasonable choice.
- Price and bench time
- From $530, subject to the correct chip being available; three to seven business days
- Before it goes back
- All eight chips tested cold and hot, then a sustained load.
A 3070 Ti that crashes or artefacts only once it warms up
- What you see
- Fine for the first few minutes of a game, then artefacts or a crash. A cold restart brings it back.
- What diagnosis usually finds
- A fault that follows temperature. Warming the board section by section reproduces it in one GDDR6X chip or in the memory power stages.
- The repair
- A failing power stage is replaced from $430, a failing GDDR6X chip from $530, with pads renewed either way.
- Price and bench time
- Quoted once found; a heat fault has to be caught in the act, so allow extra time
- Before it goes back
- Repeated warm-ups from cold and a long run at full power.
No picture after flashing a BIOS from another card
- What you see
- Fans and lighting work but there is no picture, and the PC may not detect the card.
- What diagnosis usually finds
- Healthy hardware with firmware that does not match the board, such as another brand's file or an original 3070 file on an LHR card.
- The repair
- The correct file for that model and revision is written straight to the firmware chip and read back to verify it.
- Price and bench time
- From $330; one to two business days
- Before it goes back
- Detection, every output, and clocks and power limits checked under load.
The computer shuts off the instant it starts with the card fitted
- What you see
- The PC flicks on and dies, or does nothing. With the card removed, it starts.
- What diagnosis usually finds
- Near-zero resistance on one rail; a small injected current warms one power stage under the thermal camera.
- The repair
- The stage is replaced to match the board, the rest of the rail checked, and the card brought up current-limited.
- Price and bench time
- From $430; three to seven business days
- Before it goes back
- Rail voltages confirmed, then sustained load at full rated power.
Scorch marks on a Founders Edition 12-pin connector
- What you see
- A hot-plastic smell in a long session, then discolouring on the 12-pin socket or adapter plug.
- What diagnosis usually finds
- Heat from a poor contact, often a plug not fully seated or an adapter under strain. The input behind the socket is checked for damage.
- The repair
- The connector is replaced and the area cleaned. The damaged adapter should be replaced with the correct one for that card.
- Price and bench time
- From $370
- Before it goes back
- Full-power load testing with the connector temperature watched.
Not detected after the card was knocked or the PC was moved
- What you see
- The motherboard's GPU warning light stays on, every time or on some starts, since the card was handled.
- What diagnosis usually finds
- Tiny parts sheared off near the PCIe edge connector, or damaged or dirty gold contacts.
- The repair
- Missing parts replaced, contacts cleaned or repaired, and the area checked for cracks.
- Price and bench time
- From $370
- Before it goes back
- PCIe link confirmed at full width and speed, then a load run.
A memory and power fault that costs more than the card is worth
- What you see
- Artefacts that worsened until the screen went black; now the PC will not start with the card fitted.
- What diagnosis usually finds
- A shorted memory power stage, and a memory chip that fails testing once the supply is restored.
- The repair
- We quote both and say plainly that the total exceeds what a working used 3070 is likely to fetch. Declining is the sensible call.
- Price and bench time
- If you decline: the $150 diagnostic plus return postage, nothing else
- Before it goes back
- A short note of what failed, useful if you sell the card for parts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can an RTX 3070 be repaired?
Usually. Memory chips, power stages, connectors, ports and corrupted firmware are all fixable at board level on both the 3070 and the 3070 Ti. What usually rules a repair out is a failed GPU core, a board burnt through its layers, or several faults at once. Testing, for a $150 diagnostic that is waived if you proceed, shows which case yours is.
Is it worth repairing an RTX 3070?
It depends on the fault. A thermal service or firmware recovery from $330 usually makes sense on an otherwise healthy card, and a single power stage from $430 is a closer call. A memory chip from $530 or a reball from $630 often costs as much as a working used 3070, or more, and we will say so.
How much does an RTX 3070 repair cost?
Thermal and firmware work starts at $330, connectors and ports at $370, power stages at $430, a GDDR6 or GDDR6X memory chip at $530, and reflow or reball at $630. The diagnostic is $150 and is waived if you proceed. Call 02 8428 9224 with the model and fault for a starting price.
What is the difference between repairing a 3070 and a 3070 Ti?
Both use the GA104 GPU and eight 1GB memory chips on a 256-bit bus, but the 3070 uses GDDR6 and the Ti GDDR6X, the Ti is rated at 290W against 220W, and the Founders Edition boards differ. Memory, power parts and firmware are matched to the exact card. Prices are the same.
Can RTX 3070 VRAM be replaced?
Yes. All eight chips sit on the front of the board and any one can be replaced from $530, subject to a matching GDDR6 chip (3070) or GDDR6X chip (3070 Ti) being available. On many 3070s that is close to the value of a working used card, so compare sold prices first.
Was my second-hand RTX 3070 used for mining, and does it matter?
Possibly. Some miners bought 3070s in quantity, Ethereum GPU mining ran until September 2022, and mining software bypassed the LHR limiter in 2022, so an LHR label proves little. On a hard-worked card, paste, pads and fans are checked first, and a thermal service from $330 is often the right first step for a hot or crashing card.
What does LHR mean on an RTX 3070?
Lite Hash Rate: from late May 2021, new 3070s carried a limiter that cut Ethereum mining speed, marked LHR on the box. The 3070 Ti had it from launch. LHR 3070s use a different GPU revision, so firmware is matched to the revision as well as to the board.
Why does my RTX 3070 have no display?
Usually a power rail that is not coming up, corrupted or mismatched firmware, or a fault on the output side. If the PC still detects the card, suspect firmware, memory or outputs; if not, a rail or the PCIe contacts. Spinning fans and working lights do not prove the GPU supply is healthy.
Can an RTX 3070 be fixed after a failed BIOS flash?
Usually, from $330. Try the other position of the BIOS switch first, if your card has one. Otherwise we write the correct file for that model and revision, original or LHR, straight to the firmware chip and verify it. If the firmware proves fine, testing moves on and you hear before any extra cost.
What warranty comes with an RTX 3070 repair?
The parts we fit carry a 12-month warranty for the same fault. If a replaced part fails within that time and the fault comes back, return the card and the part is covered. An unrelated fault is treated as a new job, with its own diagnosis and quote.
How long does an RTX 3070 repair take?
Thermal and firmware jobs usually take 1–2 business days on the bench, power-stage and memory work 3–7, and reballs or physically damaged cards 5–10. Faults that only show when hot need longer, a chip that has to be ordered depends on supply, and postage adds transit time.
Can I post my RTX 3070 from interstate?
Yes, from anywhere in Australia. After getting a job number, send just the card, cooler on, in an anti-static bag within a sturdy box padded by at least 5cm. Postage both ways is your choice and cost, which matters on a cheaper card, so ring first and we will say if the trip is likely to be worth it.
My RTX 3070 is still under warranty. Should I send it to you?
Go to the retailer first. Your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law sit with the business that sold you the card, and a warranty claim may cost you nothing. If the claim is refused, or the card is out of warranty, we can diagnose and quote it.

Not Sure a 3070 Repair Is Worth It?
Ring with the card model and the symptom. If it sounds like memory or reball work that would cost more than the card is worth, we will tell you before you spend anything on a diagnostic or postage.
