Yes: a faulty graphics card can be fixed from Wagga Wagga, and it does not have to be replaced. It comes to us by post, at a workshop near Castle Hill in Sydney, where the work happens at component level: we follow the fault to the single part on the board that gave out, and fit a new one. Temora (2666) and Gundagai (2722) match Wagga. Parcel Post is 3–4 days in both directions for all of them.
What a Wagga search turns up
What comes back: local computer shops and IT support, national chains' suburb pages, directories, and a Canberra workshop that accepts posted jobs from Wagga, with 24–48 hour repairs and no fix, no fee. Not one lists a graphics card repair price. The Canberra workshop's only GPU evidence is a customer review about a melted power connector, and Facebook threads of locals asking who can fix a custom-built PC fill out the page.
Before you hand a card to anyone, us included, get four answers:

- Roughly what does this fault cost, in writing?
- How long is the warranty, and is labour in it?
- What is the bill if nothing can be done?

Riverina heat, dust and storms, and the faults they leave
At the Bureau of Meteorology's Wagga Wagga AMO station, the mean January maximum is 31.9 °C, 20.6 days a year reach 35 °C or more, and the record is 46.1 °C, from 4 January 2020. A gaming PC in a room that bakes all summer keeps its card hot for months, and heat dries out thermal paste and pads. Storms are the sharper risk. On 15 January 2025, a severe thunderstorm put a 106 km/h gust through Wagga Airport and left more than 16,000 Essential Energy customers without power, from Gobbagombalin and Bomen to Lake Albert and Forest Hill. Worth knowing: Essential Energy compensates only when a loss stems from its own negligence, and storm damage is generally not reimbursed. Your home and contents policy is usually the place to start. The diagnosis and quote we email you name the failed parts and the repair cost, which is the kind of evidence insurers look for; Essential Energy, for its part, wants repair invoices, quotations or an electrician's report. No claim is guaranteed, and EWON can review one that is refused.
The Murrumbidgee reached 10.56 m in March 2012 and went over the North Wagga levee; in November 2022 it peaked at 9.72 m, and more than 700 residents were evacuated from North and East Wagga. If a computer has been in floodwater, do not switch it on. It needs a licensed electrician's check before use, which our workshop cannot stand in for, and cards that have soaked in floodwater are frequently not worth saving. The diagnostic settles it.

Australia Post bundles $100 of cover into Parcel Post and Express Post. Beyond that, each extra $100 of value, or any part of one, costs $2.50, and cover tops out at $5,000. Eighteen increments on a $1,900 card make $45. Signature on Delivery, $2.95, becomes compulsory above $500. The postage itself is extra and yours to choose. Sendle's extra cover stops at $1,500, below this card's value, and CouriersPlease's included cover leaves out electronic devices. A claim needs proof of lodgement and of value, has to be lodged inside 6 months, and a poorly packed card voids it.
Any desktop GeForce or Radeon is welcome, whoever built the board. Repair pays off most often on RTX 50, 40 and 30 cards and on Radeons from the RX 6000 generation to the RX 9000. Intermittent faults run past the bench times above, and parts on order depend on supply.
Sending a card from 2650
- Drive it straight to the counter. On a 35 °C day, do not leave the boxed card in a parked car while you shop. Lodge it over the Post Office counter and keep the receipt.
- Double-box it. Anti-static bag, a snug rigid inner carton, and an outer carton with no less than 7cm of cushioning around it. Shake the parcel; nothing should shift. "Fragile" written on the outside protects nothing.
- Keep it plain. The card only, cooler fitted, in a box that does not advertise electronics. Leave cables, brackets and the retail box in Wagga.
- Job number inside, return address agreed. Post once our email arrives, and tell us whether the card should return to a PO Box or to where you live.

Recent purchases: start with the seller
A recently bought card should go back to the retailer before it comes to us. Under Australian Consumer Law, a manufacturer warranty sits on top of your consumer guarantees and cannot shrink them. With a major failure, the choice between refund and replacement is yours, and the seller has to honour it rather than send you to the manufacturer. Cards bought privately, or misused, are not covered. In 2018 the Federal Court, deciding ACCC v Apple, found that an outside repair does not, by that alone, end the guarantees, but the retailer is still the first call.

Leave the PC unplugged rather than retrying it, then ring us with the model and what happened. If the card is too cheap to justify freight both ways, we will say so.
